Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your information

This site, Altumbase, is published and operated by GABLU Company s.r.o., which is the controller of any personal information described in this policy. The company's details are:

This policy is written with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in mind, because the site is aimed at readers in Australia. A short section on European data protection law appears at the end, because the controller is established in the European Union.

2. What is actually collected

The honest and complete answer is: very little, and nothing through any form, because there is no form. Specifically:

• Through the site itself: nothing. There is no contact form, no newsletter sign-up, no account, no quiz and no lead capture of any kind. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking of any sort.
• Ordinary server logs. The hosting provider that serves this site keeps standard technical logs, as almost all web servers do. These typically record your IP address, the type of browser and device you use (the user agent), the address of the page you requested, and the date and time of the request.
• Whatever you put in an email. If you write to info@altumbase.online, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message.

That is the full extent of it. We do not build profiles, we do not combine data from other sources, and we hold no special categories of sensitive information.

3. Why each category is handled, and on what basis

• Server logs exist for security and diagnostics — to keep the site available, to investigate faults, and to detect and respond to misuse. This is a routine and expected part of operating a website.
• Email you send is used only to read and reply to your message, and to keep a record of the correspondence if that is necessary, for example to act on a correction or a privacy request.

We do not use any of this information for marketing, and we do not send marketing email.

4. How long each category is kept

• Server logs are retained for a short period for security and diagnostic purposes and are then deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course. Our hosting arrangement retains them for no longer than 12 months.
• Emails are kept only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and are then deleted. Where there is no ongoing reason to keep a message, we delete it within 24 months.

5. Who your information is disclosed to

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. Two categories of recipient are worth naming honestly:

• The hosting provider processes the server logs described above as part of delivering the site.
• Google. This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font file, that request necessarily reaches Google's servers and includes your IP address. Google does not set a cookie through this, and we receive no data from it. Google's handling of such requests is described in its own privacy policy.

Cross-border disclosure (APP 8). Because the hosting provider and Google operate infrastructure outside Australia, the handling described above involves disclosing personal information to recipients located overseas, including in the United States and elsewhere. We name this openly so you can take it into account.

6. How your information is protected

The site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and the site is encrypted in transit. Access to any email correspondence is limited to the publisher. Because the site collects so little — no accounts, no payment details, no cookies — the amount of information that could be exposed is small by design, which is itself a protection.

7. Your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles

You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and to make a complaint about how we have handled it. The route is straightforward: contact us first at info@altumbase.online and we will deal with your request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), which oversees privacy in Australia and explains the complaint process on its website.

8. Data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to any individual whose information we hold, we will assess and respond to it in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act, which can require notifying affected individuals and the OAIC.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16, and it collects nothing from anyone, children included. Nothing here is intended to gather information from a child.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. If the site were ever to begin collecting information in a new way — which would be a significant change from its current do-nothing posture — we would update this policy before that collection began.

11. European data protection (GDPR)

Because the controller, GABLU Company s.r.o., is established in the European Union, the following applies where the General Data Protection Regulation is relevant. The legal basis we rely on for keeping security and diagnostic server logs is our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the site (Article 6(1)(f)). There is no consent basis in play because the site sets no cookies and runs no tracking. Where you email us, our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection in respect of your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
